Purpose of Position:

The position exists to assist with the management and conservation of native fishes in the San Juan and Canadian river drainages.
This position is a Pay Band 55.
 Classification Description:
Zoologist and Wildlife Biologist-Basic
 Minimum Qualifications:
High School Diploma or GED and two (2) years directly related experience.

Employment Requirements:
Must possess and maintain a valid New Mexico Driver's License. Employment is subject to a pre-employment background investigation and is conditional pending results.

Working Conditions:
Work will occur both in an office setting and in the field. The majority of the work will occur in the field and will require travel throughout the State. Work will require long hours in all weather conditions. Use of boats, atvs, fish shocking equipment, nets, seines, and other equipment will be required. Position will require significant walking, lifting, and bending as well as working in and around water.
